Which RAL colours fit together?

When do colours go together harmoniously? On the one hand, the question can be answered by looking at the various subjective aesthetic sensations ("always and never"), and on the other hand there are arithmetical rules with universal (but at the same time not undisputed) character. Both viewpoints find their place in RAL digital.

In the accompanying program component "Visual Colour Mood", colour samples in diverse combinations can be displayed on the monitor. Within this program any number of fields can be selected. For each colour field all the colours of the RAL Design Systems and RAL standard colours are available. In this way the user has the opportunity to make a personal decision about the effectiveness of the RAL colour combination.

Colour sets can be named, saved, and their printed output optimised.

Brief Instructions

  1. Start "Visual Colour Mood" using the program manager or the Start bar. By clicking on the buttons "1" to "10", one of the stored colour sets will be displayed.
  2. Using "Colour Selector" or double clicking on an activated "1" to "10" button will open the Colour Selector.
  3. In the Colour Selector, the RAL standard colours (RAL 840-HR) and/or colours of the RAL Design System can be added to (upper double arrow) or removed from (lower double arrow) the actual colour set (right). The order of the colours corresponds to the order in which they were entered.
  4. Clicking on OK brings up the display window. With "Save" the actual colour set will be permanently stored.
  5. " Print" will print out the RAL colours. Note that in case of CMYK devices RGB values will be used. Deviations from the actual RAL colours are therefore possible.
